[16:12] <+Cyberkilla> It's going really well now. Getting a lot done |
[16:12] <+Cyberkilla> All the big problems are out of the way; all I'm doing now is implementing it. |
[16:13] <+Cyberkilla> If anything, the only issue will be tweaking the caps on attributes. I've set them up roughly now, so I can get straight to work, and do a little bit of beta testing with people to get it ironed out. |
[16:13] <+Cyberkilla> Looking good. |
[16:13] <+Cyberkilla> Screenshots most likely at the end of the week, and the twitter feed will be active again. |
[16:13] <+Cyberkilla> I keep opening the twitter page, but what's the point of posting something that isn't news? I have nothing to report that would interest anyone at the moment. |
[16:15] <+Cyberkilla> I've just been writing out formula with LibreOffice Formula Editor, and running through the possibilities in my head. I've came up with some /reasonably/ simple designs that people should be able to wrap their head around. |

Awesome man it's good to hear you got pretty much everything solved. As for the twitter thing, I agree it should be for important updates of course
But what about benefits for following the twitter? Kind of the same with the newsletter having special rewards etc.
I would love to beta test this also btw, my PP runs out in 7 days though
got 2 buy moar!

[10:09] <+Cyberkilla> Btw, I'm adding an option to delete an item that is still being used. |
[10:09] <+Cyberkilla> What'll happen is, you'll never, ever, be able to create any more instances of the item. |
[10:10] <+Cyberkilla> So the ones that are still in existance are a**ured to be the last of their kind. |
[10:10] <+Cyberkilla> Useful for cleaning up and scheduling crap to be removed the moment the number of instances hits zero. |
[10:11] <+Cyberkilla> But also great to rea**ure players that your ultra-rare only 5 in existance super weapons are really going to be the last 5 in existance. |
[10:11] <+Cyberkilla> Every item will have a current status: |
[10:11] <+Cyberkilla> inactive, pending, accepted, active, deleted |
[10:11] <+Cyberkilla> You can only edit an item if it is inactive. |
[10:12] <+Cyberkilla> A pending item is one that's awaiting approval. You can cancel the pending approval and make further edits, then put it back up for approval, if desired. |
[10:12] <+Cyberkilla> But you can't edit it whilst it is awaiting approval, as it might confuse the moderator. |
[10:13] <+Cyberkilla> Accepted is when the item has been approved by the moderator, and you are free to "finalise" it. |
[10:13] <+Cyberkilla> What happens is, once the item is approved, you can choose to make it active, which is permanent, and THAT is the moment you actually spend your points. |
[10:14] <+Cyberkilla> You only spend your points to create the item after it has been approved, and you're happy with it. |
[10:14] <+Cyberkilla> Beware though, once it is active, you cannot make any edits. Only minor name/desc/image revisions are permitted, and must be approved by the moderator. |
[10:15] <+Cyberkilla> Those are free, naturally. |
[10:15] <+Cyberkilla> Finally, you can also set the item to deleted. When you delete an item that has no instances in the wild (i.e. it's just the item spec, with no actual items made for it), it will be deleted instantly. |
[10:16] <+Cyberkilla> If there /are/ instances of the item already in the wild, those will continue to exist, but there will never be any more items of that time created from the spec. |
[10:16] <%Super Macho Man> man |
[10:16] <+Cyberkilla> They are, in essence, unique and irreplacable. |
[10:16] <%Super Macho Man> why do u write so much? |
[10:17] <+Cyberkilla> Because I can |
[10:17] <%Super Macho Man> but |
[10:17] <+Cyberkilla> Once there are no more instances available, the spec is deleted permanently, and that's the end of that. |

Well, so far, I've done almost all of the design work required, and started to create the pages themselves. I also have a number of the library functions tested and working.
I've started and/or completed the following pages:
- Item Maker Home
- Browse Items
- View Item
- Edit Item (everything except attributes, which is separate page of nightmarish complexity:lol
- Delete Item
- Upload/Change Item Image
I have a few more to do, including:
- Modify Item Attributes
- Various set-related pages
- Spawn/forge Item Instance (spend Credits to create an instance of your items to sell/equip/etc)
- View Item Uses (number of items in the wild, number of NPC Vendors selling it, which NPCs drop it as treasure, etc.)
- There's a few more interesting pages, but I don't have my notebook with me atm
In the future, but not for the initial release:
- Add/remove crystal sockets from your items.
- Add/remove item mod sockets.
It's pretty much just monotony, until I start on the attribute page, which is the really hard part. At this point, I have to do tests to see which items are allowed certain attributes (attack, HP, etc.), and how much they can have. I'll let people access the beta version before I release it officially, so anyone with an interest in this can try it out.
More info to come.
