We have a new feature that causes items to degrade with use, to varying degrees. This gameplay mechanic will help differentiate items that are overpowered but high-maintenance versus cheaper to maintain, but less effective items.

For Phase 1:
  • All items have 3,000 durability.
  • Each attack/raid has a chance of causing a small amount of wear and tear to your equipped items.
  • Currently, damage will incur negative buffs on your items at 10% increments.
  • If you keep your items in good condition, repair is cheap. If you let them get excessively damaged, the repair cost is slightly worse, to punish bad habits (smiley)

In the next phase, the durability will probably differ depending on item quality / how over powered they are, but that is yet to be determined.

If the repair costs or any other aspect of this is thought to be unreasonable in phase 1, we can always tweak things until there's a consensus. Feedback is welcome, as always.

Hey, how are people feeling about the rate of repair and pricing at the moment? Would be good to get some feedback on this (smiley)

I think we'll probably want to make repair cheaper for lower level items somehow. At the moment, item level and quality doesn't factor into it much. I'd also like to have certain items be more durable than others, though I haven't came up with a good system for deciding that.

In my head though, you might have a really overpowered item, but it's a high maintenance thing you only use sparingly. To get high power and high durability, you'd need to find an item with higher quality level, for instance.
