- Consecutive login streaks skill buff and badges
Sun Aug 30 18:41:35 EDT 2020
Hello,
I've added an initial attempt at a "login streak" feature, where we track consecutive logins, along with the maximum streak achieved.
- When you reach a 7 days, a skill buff is applied that will be continuously renewed each day, as long as you maintain the streak.
- If you reach 14, 21, or 28 days, that skill buff will increase in potency.
- There are also badges for various milestones.
In terms of rewards, I do have some set up, but since there will be 7 days before anyone sees them, it may change again. They're currently a handful of buffs to the standard attributes.
I want them to be worthwhile, but the game's economy must be also taken into account. I'm sure we can tweak it over the next few weeks until it strikes a sensible balance though.
This is the first of a number of "pots" to fill, and I'm going to experiment with others, including attacking/raiding-based pots, shared guild pots, and possibly even a game-wide one where everyone has to push us past a milestone in order for everyone get receive a reward. Should be interesting.

Really good idea to incentivise consistent activity. Especially as a forerunner to potentially more content, rewarding the player for checking up on that daily
The other stuff sounds interesting. I wonder if IW is recruiting

Just a thought; should server time be based on the majority of players' demographic? I have no idea where the majority of players are from, but it might make sense to adjust server time accordingly to reflect this statistic.
To Snow Wolf's point, players are more likely to miss a day if server time zone is way off from their personal time zone.

Second thought; should this streak number be included on users' profiles?
And/or something like a top 5 "Players with Longest Streaks" stat on the home-page
