Quest chains...

When there is a quest chain, rather than having the link to Go Back and have to click on the quest giver again, it might be a good idea to have the link go to the next quest.  I haven't seen any quest chains like the Slow Firefly Catcher, and if it hadn't been stated that there was a second quest (or I hadn't run into the bug with it), I wouldn't have known to click on him again.

The plan is to offer the next quest immediately after you finish the first one. It's not done yet though, as it proved to be a little complicated to pull off

I'm thinking we could use a "Quest Tracker" screen. A simple pop-up that stays on screen when you're in the quest map. That way you can keep track of how many of X monsters you've killed and how many of X item you've collected, without having to travel back and forth between the world map and the quest log to keep up with it.

I think a lot of the quests could use a better description rather than just saying "go out and find these". Right now I have no idea how to get fireflies or space salt.

What, on Explore/View Current Map, or hovering on every page? Is it really needed on every page? Let me know what you think. Overheads would be lower if it was just on View Current Map though (smiley)

Alternatively, I was tempted to do it was an icon next to the new mail/attack icons, that could be clicked or hovered over to show your progress.

It could be cached, only updating every 3 minutes, unless something is achieved in the meantime.
If you start a new quest, complete an old one, or just complete a quest task, it could probably be forced to update immediately. Idk, whatever people thing would be most useful.

Idk, I think those two examples are pretty easy to figure out.

#1. There is a map leading off from the Fork in the Road that says "Leads to Firefly Snare", and all maps in that direction say where they're going.

#2. You're bound by your level when you're a new player, and will probably have little choice but to go in the intended direction anyway, whereas we are much higher level and don't feel the restriction, so we wander off in the wrong direction.

#3. The space salt is from a quest you should come across /before/ the other ones that ask for it. Also, it will be available via a vendor if you accidentally delete it (smiley)

I'll check the wording on the quests to see if they need refinement, but I don't think they're too bad, imho. Each quest has a long description, given as the message when you speak to the npc that offers the quest, plus a simple objective message in the quest log.

Room for improvement, I'm sure, but probably not as bad as you think, as you're looking in from the perspective of someone that can just walk all over the maps unrestricted(smiley)
