This may all be redundant, considering the potential removal of this page in the future.
I am not entirely happy about the game revolving around attacking from a list like this.
I can reduce it to somewhere between 10 and 30 minutes. 5 minutes is a bit low considering the amount of db row sorting involved in that page.
Of course, the removal of a key page like this would not be taken lightly.
I would certainly discuss it again on the forum and try to create alternative methods(revolving around the WORLD pages) rather than a boring list.
This is an argument for another time though I have a LOT of work to do in these next 3 days.

off topic... you check for cast skills to decide whether to attack or not? I mean, the next highest person you can attack is si levels lower than you (oh, and even more off topic, congrats on level 90)
Aye, thanks.
Yes, I actually check for the cast skills. If the one I attack has banked credits and the lowest level I can attack and has honor skill cast, I usually decide to skip him. If there's a player close to my level with all skills increasing the attack power cast, I wait until some of them wear out.

hmmm...
maybe... no, probably I am just slow today, but if you check the profile pages anyways, can't you just read if they are online or not right next to their name?
Dang! You are tired If the profile page would state loud and clear "online" or "offline" that would be interesting. But sometimes the player was last seen 10 minutes ago which could mean: a) he pressed log out so he logged out and is no longer listed on the 'who is online' page, or b) he just went out for a cup of coffee.
A red/green or yellow/orange "light" in the profile would be a funny idea to see if the player is offline or online at the moment checking their profile... hmm...
Well - most ineffective: people with this method of attacking already have 30+ tabs opened in their browser... haha! (I do get your point though, you're making fun of me opening the profile page when I could simply press the crossed spades icon.)
You mean this is what's annoying? Well, I have a simple proposal to make: why not list all 'grey' level N players below the active level N players and the active level (N-1) players?

I think I am missing something here... could you explain further?
edit: oh, wait- you use it to see if a person is going to attack you again
you could open their profile pages to see

I think a lot of people benefit from the inactives not getting mixed up... I mean, it even happens to me sometimes just going down to level 20, and although it is a smart thing that you do, I'm not sure how many people also do that (though they should)

Damn, I didn't see you posted this before my reply to Dogmeat.
I see your point. Indeed if at some later point you'd discuss the complete removal of the players list, people will mumble. BUT I'd see no problem with that if the FutureRP world would be varied enough and filled with all kinds of NPCs, of all levels, enough for everybody to allow them a decent growth***.
_______
***Decent growth definition: let's take someone who has all the NPCs red on the old world maps and ask him

well, the thing is, being it is so hard to find (), most people do not actually log out but just close the browser and let the "time-out log out" happen...

perhaps I didn't explain as well, either... since the browse players switches the order of people in the same level around, the inactives get thrown to other pages... yes, your plan works for the higher players, but imagine people who have to attack the level 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8's (even a little bit above)? (yes, I am actually showing consideration for low-levels)
even being below the actives (which they usually seem to be), they would still get mixed up and you'd end up only attacking half or less of a whole page after a while =/
[13:23] <CYBER> but since my lvl is low so Iwill not sell brain fish becoz I need a lots of brain
